Daily 10-Minute Writing Exercises for 2025

All right, gearing up for the New Year here, and planning to write for at least ten minutes a day every day in 2025. I’ve got January mapped out so far:

As I’ve been pre-loading writing exercises for the month of January, I’ve decided to post quickie recordings of these exercises as a daily no-homework, write-along podcast. Same name as the site (And Now We Write), no eps released yet — I’ll have those coming out 1x/day starting Jan 1 and I’ll try to remember to come back & link from this post once it starts publishing.

If you want to follow along all you need to do every day is sit down and press play, and we’ll do a 10-minute writing exercise together DURING the episode — no making a mental note for later, no hmm that sounds interesting cool idea, I will build in the time to actually DO SOME WRITING.

My personal plan is to do the exercises live as I’m recording the episodes, so that’s a few days in advance. Knocked out three test episodes last night and I think it’s doable and sustainable. This way I’ll achieve my goal of developing my craft + getting more comfortable writing on demand, generating words that are not aimed at publication — AND — every day I’ll listen back to the ep that just released that day, and either use the time for a new round on the exercise or about a page on a WIP, depending on how I’m feeling. Thus sticking to my official resolution.

That’s it, that’s the post!
